To change the DNS settings of the Netgear Orbi router, you have to add the software to the Netgear or router. In today’s topic, we are going to discuss steps for configuring software onto your router. The same steps are given on the Netgear orbi support link as well, so you can take references from there. All the steps which are going to be discussed here are generalized and work on all the Netgear models.
1st step: Access the router
To access or login to the router settings, go to routerlogin.com. If this doesn’t work, you can enter the default IP address given at the back of the router. Otherwise, the IP details can be fetched from the Netgear website even. On this IP, all the details related to the configured router will be displayed on the screen. If this doesn’t open, you need to recheck the IP address. If someone at your home has changed the default IP address, then contact experts or confirm from family members. The login details are given here as under:
Click to log in to the account.
2nd step: Go to the DNS section in the router dashboard
- Go to the ‘Advanced’ section through the router dashboard.
- Click on the ‘Setup’ option.
- Here, you will find ‘Internet setup’.
- DNS section is given under the ‘Domain name server’ page.
3rd step: Update DNS settings
Under DNS settings, you will find 2 options given here as under:
- Get automatically from ISP
- Use DNS servers.
- Tap ‘Use these DNS servers.
Here, you have to enter the IP details into the highlighted section. The details of the steps are also available on-screen.
Save the settings by clicking on the ‘Apply’ option. In the case of paid subscription, you can use ISP’s provided DNS settings.
4th step: Test DNS configuration
After performing the above-mentioned steps, the last step is to verify and test the DNS configurations whether these are working properly or not. You can do this through ‘DNS test’.
When you perform this test, it will take 10-15 minutes to complete. So, sit back and relax. Don’t be impatient. If the computer or the DHCP line is taking the additional time than normal, you can report the issue and try disabling Wi-Fi and re-enable it. The steps for disabling the Wi-Fi network are given in the blog post. Click on the link and start reading steps. Wait for 2 minutes and restart it.
This is how you can change the DNS settings of your Orbi router. We hope you will get success after performing these steps. For more information Orbi Router Setup you can visit Netgear Orbi Support Phone Number.
